NYC mayor says state is ’starving’ city of funds
NEW YORK — New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the city must cut nearly 11,000 jobs from its 300,000-person workforce because of budget woes. Bloomberg says the city is forced to assume the worst for how much funding it will get from the state.
